The longer 'guard' hair protects the
goat from the elements and the under
wool keeps it warm. This under wool
is also spun and woven into the world
famous `Cashmere` wool used in
making fine woollen garments.
The hair is used for textiles & carpets,
and other by-products form the staple
diet in rural communities where these
goats are farmed. It is chemically
processed and occasionally slight
shedding may occur - this is harmless
and will not deteriorate or affect the
goatskin rug. Goatskin rugs are very
popular and sold worldwide.
Goatskin Rugs-Maintenance:
The Goatskin Rug is for light use only.
Keep away from open fires and strong heat and do not wash.
Brush frequently with a stiff wire brush and shake out daily.
Dry clean as recommended when required OR apply a little 'white spirit',
brushing the pile vigorously and leave to dry naturally.
